His career began in 1980 when he joined CIGNA International, London as a bond portfolio manager responsible for all European portfolio management. In 1986 he was appointed Director of Fixed Income with responsibility for all international fixed income investment activity over portfolios totalling $3bn and a team of six.

He left CIGNA in 1989, to participate in the formation of Century Asset Management Limited, a global fixed income specialist where he was the company's Chief Investment Officer and joint Managing Director. Century was consistently ranked as one of the top three Global Fixed Income managers in the Micropal universe.

In 1992 he set up Culross Global Management Limited. Culross has been a specialist investor in Hedge Funds since 1995, launching their flagship Fund of Hedge Funds, Culross Global Ltd, in January 2000.

Nigel is a British national. He was educated at Cambridge University, graduating in 1979 with a BA (Hons) and MA (Cantab).
